SEA FEVER   (Click on the photo to see a larger picture)

The Sea Fever is a 96-foot custom live-aboard dive boat based in Miami, Florida. Offering 6 day cruises to the Bahamas, Sea Fever delivers some of the best diving we’ve found. Exploring the wrecks, reefs, and walls from Bimini and it’s surrounding islands as well as the amazing Cay Sal Bank it’s a trip not to be missed. The Sea Fever crew does the utmost to pamper each diver. You will enjoy incredible meals and snacks during your voyage while you visit dive sites not available to the land locked explorer. The variety of creatures you’ll see and the opportunity to explore untouched places makes this trip one of our favorites. You can do 5-7 dives each day or just lounge around the sun deck enjoying the scenery and camaraderie as you escape to this tropical paradise. In the past we have enjoyed shark and dolphin encounters, night diving, drift diving, and just swimming around through the cracks, swim throughs, and trenches, that make up the northern Bahamas. Great for divers of all experience levels and accommodations for 14, Sea Fever is one of the best!

PANAMA CITY, FLORIDA

Located on the panhandle of Florida, we have been diving here for 15 years. You’ll be diving in the Gulf of Mexico and exploring the wrecks and artificial reefs offshore of Panama City Beach. Known for the snow-white sand along the beaches, the 75-degree waters are home to countless creatures. In the past we have hand fed dolphins, encountered sharks, rays, goliath grouper, and schools of fish so large they literally block out the sun as they swim around you. If you are a lover of fresh seafood, the spear fishing can’t be beat. Returning from your dive with grouper, red snapper, amberjack, flounder, and lobster. Even the novice diver can take advantage of this harvest. Enjoy shipwrecks? The waters here are home too many vessels intentionally sank as part of the artificial reef program. Everything from former Navy vessels and hovercraft, to tugboats, barges, and bridge spans. With depths ranging from 40 to 110 feet our normal dive profiles allow 3 dives per day. Bad weather? No Problem! If Mother Nature conspires against us and we can’t dive offshore there are 2 of Florida’s legendary freshwater springs within a short drive. Unlimited visibility, caverns and swim-thrus the springs are a great diversion to the Gulf wrecks. Panama City is easy to get to by flying or driving if you want to enjoy the scenery. It is a fun place to visit but it’s been the diving that has kept us coming back for 15 years!

GRAND CAYMAN

The Cayman Islands has long been a Mecca for divers. Offering excellent visibility, the combination of boat and shore diving, with creatures too numerous to count, Grand Cayman trips are part of our annual schedule. During each August we offer the second of our “Family Fun” vacations. Open to all divers, Scuba Rangers, parents, and anyone else needing to escape the Baltimore summer you will enjoy a variety of activities. We stay at the Sunset House resort; right on the beach, and home to internationally recognized Cathy Church and her underwater photography school. While the adults are diving, snorkeling, or just relaxing we'll have activities for the kids. The Rangers will get to explore the reef, dive a wreck, feed the stingrays while diving at the famous Stingray City, and go on night snorkeling adventures. Supervised by us at all times, parents are welcome to join in or can take the opportunity to get away and enjoy activities of your own. The sightseeing, restaurants and other activities on Grand Cayman are just too many to mention. Come home with a great tan and feeling refreshed, as you get ready for the new school year.

COOPER RIVER, SOUTH CAROLINA

Charleston, South Carolina has unique diving opportunities for beginners and seasoned divers. Settled in 1670 the Cooper River contains numerous artifacts spanning the centuries. Black glass bottles, pottery chards, bricks used in building Fort Sumter, Indian artifacts, and sharks teeth from the long extinct megalodon shark! With a good underwater light and a little extra weight you will explore the river searching for these unique collectables. On previous trips everyone has found and brought back a lot of these teeth that are millions of years old. We’ve recovered teeth as large as 5 inches! It’s a lot of fun and a chance to add a special artifact to your diving collection.

ST. LAWRENCE RIVER

It may sound a little bizarre, traveling to Canada to go wreck diving, but this trip offers many surprises. We travel north to Rockport, Canada located in the scenic Thousand Islands. Only a six-hour drive from Baltimore this trip is a fun weekend get-away. Canada may sound cold but the water of the St. Lawrence River is warm (70-75 degrees) and thanks to the zebra mussel population offers clear water diving with visibility often exceeding 75 feet. Want to see that picture perfect shipwreck? You know the one with the masts sticking up and wooden planking and rooms to explore? Just like to drawings of pirate ships from the books you’ve read? The St. Lawrence has them. You can dive with us as we explore these amazing shipwrecks. Some date back into the 1800’s and offer rare glimpses into the past. You’ll see old pottery and tableware; maybe even find an old bottle for your collection. This is diving like you will find nowhere else. We stay right along the river in a quaint little inn in Rockport. Diving doesn’t get much easier as the boat will pick us up from the pier at our hotel and return back 3 dives later. Weather usually doesn’t interfere with the fun. The wind that cancels ocean diving doesn’t affect the protected waters of the St. Lawrence. A weekend offering 7 dives on 7 different wrecks, what more do you want.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

The town of Juan Dolio is located on the southern coast of the Dominican Republic. There you will find the Barcelo’ Colonia Tropical hotel and resort. 55 km from Santo Domingo this beachfront location offers plenty of diving and relaxation. Airfare, hotel, meals, drinks, diving, transfers, taxes, and gratuities are all included in this years stay. We will enjoy 2 dives daily with plenty of optional dives for those who wish. In addition to the usual, reef, wreck, and wall dives available at most destinations we will have the opportunity to dive the Ceuva Tai’na cave system. These large galleries and tunnels feature crystal clear waters and the chance to view spectacular rock formations. This is an over-head environment in some areas but the presence of guides will allow divers to explore in comfort. Not a diver? Portions of the system are dry and guests are welcome to tour and even snorkel this incredible system. This trip is the perfect time to escape from the ice, snow, and sleet of Baltimore for a few days of fun and adventure.

MOUNT STORM LAKE

Located just west of Deep Creek Lake and the Wisp Ski Resort, Mount Storm Lake in West Virginia is a unique dive opportunity. As part of our annual dive/ski weekend, you will get a chance to spend the diving the warm waters of the lake and finish up the weekend skiing the slopes at Wisp. Spend the weekend with us in a huge cabin featuring indoor swimming pool, hot tubs, fireplaces, pool tables, etc. The view of Deep Creek Lake from this mountain retreat will be long remembered. Remember we said dive the “warm” waters of Mount Storm? It’s the middle of winter! This lake is situated next to a coal-fired power plant that uses the water to “cool” the turbines as they produce electricity. The power plant circulates all the water in the lake keeping it a toasty 50 degrees when the outside temperature has been below freezing all winter. Explore the rock ledges and drop-offs during your dive as you contemplate skiing, snowboarding, or tubing the following day. It’s a great trip with lots of fun for everyone. Even if you don’t dive or ski it’s a nice winter break to sit by the fire and enjoy good food and conversation.

CHESAPEAKE BAY OYSTER DIVES

One of our more popular dives, here’s the chance to explore the Chesapeake Bay and harvest the best tasting oysters you’ll ever have. Spend a Saturday morning diving the water near Kent Island. The shallow depth (15 feet) and visibility from 5-15 feet the diving is easy and fun. Each person can collect up to a bushel of these tasty mollusks. All you have to do is pick them up, put them in your bag and return to the boat. The crew will collect, sort, and clean them while your getting your limit. In previous seasons we’ve never failed to limit out! Usually in just one dive, but be prepared to do 2 if needed. The water is still comfortable this time of year and we’re back at the dock by noon. No license needed for you to collect and enjoy this fall favorite. On the ride back to dock the mate will be cooking and steaming and serving part of your catch. Oysters don’t get any fresher than this. Enjoy the dive, the food, the fun, and share recipes for your upcoming oyster feast. Space is very limited so you have to reserve early or miss out till next season!
