The local dive season is just about here and we've been busy cooking up a lot of fun adventures to keep you in the water without breaking your budget. The ailing economy has also created great equipment deals from some of your favorite manufacturer's. Stop in and check out whats going on!

BONAIRE, JULY 18-25

We're going back to sunny Bonaire for another one of our famous family fun trips! Open to all divers as well as Scuba Rangers and their families. Enjoy some of the best diving in the Caribbean without the hassle of making early morning boat rides. We'll host activities for the Rangers as well as adults. This trip includes hotel, diving, rental vehicle, breakfast, Nitrox and transfers!. Kids under 12 stay FREE! Bonaire has long been one of our favorite dive destinations, noted for incredible beach dives and warm sun. Call for details, space limited!

OCEAN CITY WRECK DIVES! starting JUNE 13!

Finally there's a chance to explore some of the incredible wrecks off our own coast without having to travel for hours on end! Board Ocean City's newest dive boat, the Malama Kai, for two dives daily to some of the most popular wrecks. Try your hand at spearfishing or just explore some of Maryland's sunken heritage. Travel with us as we depart on Friday evening for a full day of diving on Saturday, then return home that evening as we avoid the delays from the travelers going home on Sunday. Only $140 will get you to some of the coolest wrecks and biggest fish and lobster! Space limited to just six divers per trip.

ST. LAWRENCE RIVER DIVES:

If you haven't done one of these trips yet, your missing out on some great diving. Explore shipwrecks and walls and even get the chance to come home with interesting artifacts. This year we will also explore two incredible dive sites on the US side. The Keystorm which is a gigantic freighter that lays on her side completely intact. Lot's of room for easy penetration into the wheel house and other spaces. The America is a large upside down barge with lots of room for exploration. Remember the best thing about St. Lawrence is it's easy to get to, offers great visibility, with water temperatures over 70 degrees! Spaces are limited and these fill up fast.

SPECIALTY CLASSES!

EQUIPMENT CLASS: TUE. APRIL 7

Just in time for the summer season, enjoy the SSI Equipment Specialty Class! You'll get hands on experience in equipment repair and maintenance. Just the ticket to help you avoid lost dives and how to better care for your valuable gear!

NITROX CLASSES: THU. APRIL 23 and WED. JULY 1st

The only way to get more bottom time without lengthy decompression stops is to change the gas you're breathing! Nitrox will keep you in the water longer, reduce your surface interval and make you less tired! A one evening program is all it takes.

U/WATER NAVIGATION and NIGHT DIVING COMBO! MAY 18 & 23

Here's your chance to take two fun specialty classes for the price of one! Learn how to better navigate your way underwater and experience the excitement of night diving.

STRESS/RESCUE CLASS: STARTS JUNE 8

The SSI Stress Rescue course is designed to help divers deal with the unexpected! Divided into two classrom sessions, one pool and one open water you'll learn lot's about yourself and your ability to handle emergencies. A required course for earning your Master Diver certifcation or moving forward to leadership level classes. It's fun and informative and open to divers of all experience levels.

WRECK/DEEP DIVING COMBO: JULY 6 & 11

Another two for one deal! These specialty programs that go hand in hand with each other. Classroom session for both will be held July 6 and the dives will be held on the incredible wrecks of the St. Lawrence that weekend. Particpants will be eligible for a $50 dollar discount on the St. Lawrence trip as well. Can't go to St. Lawrence, don't fret, we'll complete the necessary dives for you locally! Don't miss the boat on this one!

HYDE'S QUARRY NEWS

The local diving is just getting better and better. Prices at out of state dive sites keep going up and up but Hyde's prices will be the same as always and there is even another great reason to explore the local waters. There's treasure to be had! This season we are having a year long treasure hunt. Pirate chests have been concealed throughout the quarry containing coupons for great prizes. Everything from air fills to dive trips are waiting for you to find and claim. Once more we will continually replace claimed items with new ones so there's always cool stuff to find. It's treasure hunting season and it starts May 2nd! We've also added a cool volleyball court to help with your boring surface intervals.

introducing Happy Hour Fridays!!

Starting Friday evening, April 3rd and continueng the first Friday of each month Undersea Outfitters will be offering Happy Hour Fridays at the store. Stop in and meet friends, old and new, share dive stories and learn about current conditions and activities. We'll present slide shows and host other interesting talks with guest speakers. Bring a beverage or something to throw on the grill and let's get ready for the 2009 dive season!

Don't forget to have your gear serviced before getting back in the water. This season is going to be one of the best ever for local diving.The line is starting to from in the service department so don't delay or you just might miss the boat!
